Fasciablaster-Migraine Protocol

-Post 2

Do you get migraines?

If you’ve had a migraine in my chair or told me about your frequent migraines in the last 6 years, chances are i’ve said something like… “i’m working on a blog post that will help you!”

Well, here it finally is!

Migraine Protocol is also the recommended starting place if you are planning on doing any face blasting, even if you’re not a migraine sufferer. Why is that?

It’s due to the tied-together nature of the upper body that this step is recommended (you know, head-bone connected to the…neck-bone and all that). In her book The Cellulite Myth, Ashley compares the fascia that connects the hands, arms, neck, shoulders, chest and head to a tight stocking. You have to smooth that stocking out by starting at the bottom and working your way in, otherwise the tension will just keep bunching and pulling downward. Ashley explains that this first step is key prior to beginning a face-blasting regimen to prevent tugging and unevenness in the delicate facial structure.

So how will this cure your migraines? Essentially by loosening the fascia “stocking” around your brain. Fascia runs throughout the entire body, meaning there is fascia surrounding the stem and nerves of the brain. When the fascia is well cared for by consistently hydrating the tissue (aka-drink water) and a consistent blasting routine, it becomes healthy, malleable and less constricting. Voila! No more migraines.

I’ve been using this technique for years and i’ve found that if I can catch my migraine before it becomes an all out sensory rave, I can carry on with my day without vomiting or having to go sit in a dark room for hours at a time. Fortunately, this is something that doesn’t have to consume a lot of your time and I promise you, it works.

How to do migraine protocol- The long and short of it

Recommended best practice for Fasciablasting is to hydrate, heat, blast and flush. That’s the short.

Hydrate: Good ol’ H2O- drink about 2/3 of your body weight or at least a tall glass before spot treating, if you’re short on time.

Heat: This step is kiiind of optional. Fascia, like any tissue is more malleable when it is warm. Heating can be done internally (exercise) or externally (hot water/heating pad). *Time saving tip-When I’m on the go, I might skip this step but I still do a brisk rub on the areas i’m blasting to get blood to the area OR turn on my car’s seat warmer and warm my hands and shoulders a little bit. Remember: blood=nutrients which equals healing.

Blast: Using oil- I recommend Bassu Oil for on-the-go blasting because it fully absorbs into the skin leaving you moisturized but not greasy. Start with the fingers/hands, then move to the wrists/forearms, elbows, biceps, chest/shoulders, neck and lastly-the head. *Use a plastic bag over your blaster claws when dry blasting the scalp.

Flush: Flushing is basically manually moving blood and plasma around the area you just blasted, like a light massage. You can us the back of your blaster, or your hands to do this. Drink another glass of water while you’re at it 😉.

*Tip- if your migraine has progressed to full on head-throbbing, nauseating, light-sensitive awfulness, lie down and take a 10 minute power nap after your blasting protocol.

This routine can take as long or short as your schedule allows. If you’re a frequent migraine sufferer or plan on blasting your face, it is highly recommended to do this on a regular basis.

You can thank me when you’re feeling better 💋
